Thompson is one of the fastest players in the class of 2018 with the ball in his hand. His background in track allows him to hit top speed right away, which makes him nearly impossible to guard in press coverage. It’s almost deceptive how fast he moves, and his effortless stride just creates immediate separation from top-flight defenders. The senior has quickly become a favorite target for Jarren Williams, and is on track to be one of the state leaders in receiving yardage this season. He has not played football since the 6th grade, but is a no doubt FBS football player and should get plenty of P5 interest this fall.
