Wood has always been 2021 target on our radar dating back to his freshman year. He is an explosive tackler with the frame to play ILB at the next level even if he spends a lot of time at DE and TE at Jeff Davis. Love his tackling, weight lifting numbers really shine through here as he makes quick use of the ball carrier. Wood also plays TE, in fact he was all-region there. Considering how strong and explosive the 2021 athlete is, I just don’t see how he doesn’t get more looks at LB during his recruitment, but there is certainly some potential as an h-back too. Fantastic leg drive while he is engaged with a block, tons of power and but great motor too. Makes a few tough catches too. Not sure how his squat is worse than his bench though.
