Jonesboro has slowly been trending up the last few years, and the 6’3″ edge defender who also plays some safety certainly has helped their winning ways. Walden has one FCS offer at the moment. He is solid in coverage doing a solid job of dropping back. Shows pretty good urgency getting to his spot in the defense. Length definitely helps taking on blocks. Definitely a good frame, gets his hands on a lot of balls around the LOS. Tackling needs work though. Walden goes in way too high, doesn’t take good pursuit angles either. His skill set is more inclined to stop pass-heavy teams at the moment. He does do a very good job of reading the QB’s eyes. Schools like bigger NB’s now, and Walden definitely checks those boxes considering his ability to play off the edge, take on blockers and also drop back in coverage. He does a solid job of playing in a cover 3 defense.
