Russell can play the game no doubt, but at his size currently, he will need to make some changes. His junior year he has been one of the best players at Monroe returning kicks, and getting several INTs already. He is very quick, and even more than that, the 2020 athlete can explode. He makes decisive cuts, and everything he seems to do is with urgency. He currently leads the state with 6 interceptions per game, a remarkable feat for a 5’7″ defensive back, but a testament to his incredible athleticism. If most teams are already deploying 5’10” slot receivers, what difference does it make to have Russell lining up over them if he’s more athletic and a more natural player. Obviously he needs to add weight, and getting up to 150-160 over the next year should be the #1 goal.
