Colquitt’s o-line is always rock solid and Barnes doesn’t appear to be any exception to that rule. The 2019 offensive guard shows solid footwork and does a good job of recognizing gap control. He plays with powerful hands, seems to really knock the defender back at the point of attack. Barnes is tenacious using his hands and staying inside the defender’s pads in fact – one reason why is one of the better pass blockers at OG in his class for Georgia. His quickness off the ball is utilized to execute multiple blocks in one play. Barnes looks like he could be a solid pulling guard too even though there is little on film to indicate that outside of general athleticism. I would like to see him become strong in the lower body. He plays behind one of the best centers in the state of Georgia, but would be curious to see the versatile blocker over at center some this summer.
