Johnson cut his teeth last year some very early reps as Central Gwinnett’s signal-caller throwing about 27 passes. He showed some very good upside both running and passing the football. We were especially impressed with his ability of throwing on the run and moving around in the pocket. Johnson is definitely a mobile QB, but do not sleep as him as a passer. Probably his best skill is leading the receiver down field. Over a very small sample size, Johnson showed good efficiency with a 107.6 QBR while also running for 116 yards on 16 carries. Being able to hurt the defense on the ground and through the air should definitely help as he adapts to varsity starter football. Definitely like his upside as one of the better dual threats in this class, and interested to see his production sophomore year.
