Simmons is a plus athlete with a low center of gravity. The 2022 back has very good pad level, and it’s not just because he is 5’9″. He has a natural forward lean and explodes out his cuts. He might not be a burner, but the powerful back does accelerate quickly. He is physical too. Just watching him dismantle defenders on blocks out on the perimeter. Simmons has a lot of physical tools here to be a good power back. His natural power and strong lower frame really sets him apart from other backs in his class. If he make another jump here his junior year, then I think some D1 option teams will be interested in Simmons as a future b-back.
