Ward accelerates on the pass and is a tough tackler in the open field. He’s a tad undersized, but at 5’10” he shows good enough size to have an impact. Ward is tough too. He gets off his blocks using really strong hands. Same hands do a good job of raking the pass out. Ward needs to improve his explosiveness right now, he just doesn’t explode like we were hoping on film. Pass breakups were good on film but too few and far between. Tackling angles can be bad, but Ward does a nice job of redirecting the ball carrier back into pursuit more times than not.
