What makes you stand out as a future collegiate athlete?
Defensive MVP my Sophomore year. Lead the team in tackles since Middle School.
Canup has borderline elite quickness, and you have to like how low he plays to the ground. The 2020 OLB/SS is a quick-reactor to the play, his ability to change direction and react to the ball carrier on a dime creates a lot of tackles for Canup. Very aggressive tackler, does a good job of wrapping up. Plays well in space, gets pretty good depth in pass coverage. Will have to play in pass coverage a lot more in college. I’m interested to see how he looks in man coverage at college camps. Looks like he is mostly in zone coverage at Hart Co. Canup needs to get stronger in the upper body, his outstanding quickness gets him in the right spot, but would like to see him add strength so he can finish off his tackles easier. The 2020 recruit has good film though, several plays where he takes down solid FBS running backs.
