Rubin brings a lot of flexibility to the offensive line considering his size and skill set. His initial power can be pretty good, but would like to see a more explosive step coming out of his stance. Rubin blocks too high at times, relies on natural size to knock his defender back or at least leverage him away from the general direction of the play. Just looking at his style of play, and it’s clear that Rubin would best fit in a zone blocking scheme. The fact that he can play center certainly adds more to his recruiting stock. Next fall we want to see him finish more, really knock back the defenders. He needs to work on flattening out his back, working in the weight room and improving flexibility, especially in the hips.
