Really big on Mayes as an athlete, he shows a pretty quick first step with a lot of urgency. He has good speed getting out to the sideline. The 2019 recruit is very aggressive and love the hustle I see with him in backside pursuit. Mayes is a quality football recruit, he needs to work on using his hands more, improving his leverage, but I really like the physicality of the Hephzibah player. He has the ability to be a quality pass-rusher at the next level, and depending on how he fills out his frame this offseason will give us a better indication where he will land. He has a lot of tools to work with.
