McDowell’s athletic upside can be special he is a powerful athlete with an explosive running stride. He just goes right through contact, and continues to push the pile. The senior needs to work on his lateral quickness a little more, we see definitive slow down in his cuts. Would like to see his pad level continue to improve as he gets a little too up right, especially in between the tackles. I like McDowell’s running style though, he plays with solid pace using his blocks and does a good job timing his cuts. If he continues to progress an an athlete, and lower his pad level, then I think he can play at a high level. He has incredible size, and I think he can be a real game changer in a spread offense where he can hit a hole and explode.
