Coltrane has been part of a championship pedigree now at BT with 3 state titles in 3 years for the 2021 recruit. He had around 60 tackles last year. At 6’3″ he has excellent size and can flat out pop a running back. He’s already at 200 lbs. and honestly he could be a MIKE at the next level. Coltrane has solid acceleration and is disciplined dropping back in coverage. He needs to do a better job of dropping his hips when making a tackle, but definitely like where he meets the ball carrier going cheek to cheek. Excellent length at 6’3, just needs to continue to work on explosiveness – a nice jump there and he should get some FBS interest. He has a ways to go in the weight room, and Coltrane could very well be around 225 this time a year from now. Definitely a lot of upside here.
