Last year’s offense at Grady circiled around Caylin Newton, but in 2017 things have changed and the 2018 powerback has certainly shoulder a lot of the offensive load. He doesn’t show break away speed, and RB doesn’t workout he shows potential as a h-back or FB. His running style is brutal, and I really like how he covers the ball up with both arms when running between the tackles. Philpot is a specialized player, and a team might just sign him up as a future goaline running back. He gets up field in a hurry, and makes intelligent cuts out in space. He finish off his runs a lot of times with really low pad level, and just blows over the tackler. His 225 pound bench press is encouraging in our opinion – it shows he has a lot of room to improve in the weight room and something to consider when watching his SR film.
