Smith operates at DT for NG, but at the next level he is probably better suited as a SDE. He is active with his hands, and is relentless getting off his blocks and into the backfield. Smith gets out his stance pretty quickly. He does a nice job of getting leverage, and has a textbook swimmove already to get off blocks. Where Smith needs to improve more than anything is getting quicker, especially laterally. His strong fundamentals and qualifying scores will get him D1 interest right away, but if he can take a jump athletically I think FBS schools will be all over him. I like Smith’s game, there is solid film of him beating FBS OL commits, so how he continues to develop athletically is worth monitoring.
