We have been hearing about Eldred since before time it seems, but I guess it was just a few years ago. The 2021 recruit ended up with 6 interceptions on the year and 17 PBU’s. He is definitely a quick defender who does a good job of reading the QB’s eyes. I really like his footwork in coverage and how quick he can changes directions. Eldred does a nice job of flipping his hips and shows good speed getting up field to make a play on the ball. Definitely had good acceleration and should be a good fit at CB at the next level. Closes on the ball carrier quickly and makes sure they get little after the catch. Same closing speed in coverage too. Uses hands well to break up the pass, and doesn’t always go for the pick, which we like a lot.
