Ashton White is a built b-back in the Gilmer flexbone system. What I like about the 2021 back is the toughness and urgency right when he gets the football. He first out his stance fast and low and hits top speed quickly. The defense has to respect White when coming through the gaps. His quick acceleration allows White to run downhill, and gets defenders flying backwards trying to make tackles. He is a smart decisive back, and is quicker laterally than we expected given his frame. White is a strong athlete for sure, and on defense he lays the wood out on a few plays. Really like this young man, he has the perfect mindset to play b-back at the college level.
