Blackwell was a 2020 recruit who certainly caught our eye last fall. The shifty back has moves on top of his moves and showcases excellent balance going through contact and maintaining his feet. He is very versatile, can catch the ball split out at slot or take carry in between the tackles. He showcases very good acceleration for a 2020 player. He’s now up to 160 lbs, which is up nearly 15 lbs from last last fall. Blackwell was the backup RB this year at Rome, he didn’t make the jump as an explosive playmaker this year, but also didn’t receive a lot of snaps with this first team. He makes nice cuts in the tackle box, shows good quickness escaping away from defenders. Appears to be a smart runner who accelerates well through the hole. I would be interested to see how he grows over the next year, Blackwell has good running instincts, and the starting RB job will be his to lose next year.
