Martin got some hype over the summer, and some of the local talent evaluators were talking him up a good bit. The baseball player turn football has a huge frame to work with at 6’5″ and 220 lbs. He can space out a defense vertically. Throws some darts on the short to intermediate passes. Would like to see a tighter spiral, must be something off about his release. Martin has some huge upside considering his height and arm strength. The arm strength is certainly there, but there is just so much to work on with his footwork. Our biggest hit on Martin from his junior film was lack of mobility. He either wasn’t willing or didn’t have the feel for the game yet to take advantage of his size and quickness, but that’s all changed his senior year. Running is the main feature of his film senior year. He is huge too, lowering big hits over defenders. The upside is huge, it’s always been. He doesn’t have good footwork still in the pocket and tends to throw off balance at times. He’s a project for sure, but the improvement in running makes us think that in the worse case you could put Martin at TE if QB doesn’t work. Sort of like Jelani Woods from Cedar Grove from 4 years ago.
