Smith has a lot of upside at 6’3″ and is a springy athlete who can change directions quickly. He explodes to the football. Tackling is okay. Does a good job of squaring up the attempt and dropping the hips, but also drops his head too – looks like a head injury waiting to happen. Overall though he is looks very flexible and explosive getting making plays. He gets out to the flat fast and hits with good intensity. What I like the most about Smith as a tackler is when he makes contact, the ball carrier goes down fast. He didn’t make a ton of plays in coverage outside of two interceptions. Almost no film of him in coverage outside of that. Looking at his frame, and how should continue to fill out his frame and get over 200 lbs., I think Smith will get a lot of FBS looks here.
