The offensive engine this year at Calhoun, Hames has been one of the toughest players to tackle up in North Georgia. He doesn’t go down easily, spinning, turning, twisting for extra yardage and on top of that, he has good balance too. Solid running vision, does a good job of breaking it outside and has solid enough acceleration at the high school level to separate and score. Very quick feet, constantly makes defenders miss in 1v1 situations. Uses that quickness to make hard cuts at the LOS and really explodes into the 2nd level. Hames’ top end speed is the biggest question mark, but for an all-purpose back that can pick up nice chunks of yardage, he is definitely a good looking back.
