Wahl didn’t exactly blow up the stat sheet with 25 tackles, a few for a loss and a FF, but at 6’5″ and a solid frame to work with, that won’t really make a different to colleges. The 2020 recruit looks like so many long private school DL in that he is well schooled, and he does a nice job of filling his role. A few more lbs in the weight room and Wahl could really impact the game this fall. He uses length well to get leverage and set the edge on the outside, hustles to backside a good bit. I would think your typical high academics will be after Wahl. There is a ton to like with the flashes he shows on film and his general athleticism flowing to the football. The 2020 recruits project very well to be a SDE at the next level. Tackling is solid, but would like to see him driving his legs through and attempt. Length is very good, I would like to see Wahl maintain urgency on each play, and to get lower when taking on blocks or making a tackle.
