Benford is an explosive tackler who goes into each tackle attempt with his hair on fire. He is a very patient player, and waits on the fake so he doesn’t take a misstep. The 2018 athlete could play either safety spot but is probably better suited as a SS since he seems most comfortable at the line of scrimmage. He picked off a lot of passes last year, and for one thing he does a great job of reading the QB’s eyes. He looks good in man and zone coverage but would like to see him have a few more PBU’s where he rakes the ball out instead of going for the big hit. Benford is all out hustle player and his motor/work ethic is what every college is looking for in a student athlete.
