Akers has a good frame and quick feet which allows him to set up for whatever the defensive lineman might throw at him. He shows good hand placement, getting nice leverage on the lineman. Akers has already gained 15 pounds in the last 6 months, and we think he could pack on another 15-20 without losing any of his athleticism. Just from watching him move around, it seems like Akers would fit well with a team that runs a zone blocking scheme. Akers has really light feet, and has a quick kick step making it hard for the defensive end to beat him on speed alone. He is really coming into his own as an offensive lineman senior year, and rarely do you see a HS player who is a better pass blocker than run blocking.
